Before being able to confidently promote your widgets to your supporters, you need to double check everything works as smoothly as you want. You can try the widget in test mode, so your test actions won’t be processed but you can still experience what your supporters will.
You can also do it directly by adding ‘?proca_test ‘ to the end of the URL to tell the widget to be in test mode.
For our example petition, it would be https://fixthestatusquo.com/demonstration/petition?proca_test
When you are viewing the widget in test mode, there will be a pop-up at the top of the page to confirm it like this:

If you are testing a MTT campaign, the letters will be sent to email address entered to a widget (instead of target’s email addresses).
Test widget
You can also change the widget to always be on test mode (or always in live mode, the default)
Don’t forget to hit “Save” after toggling!

Direct Access to Steps
Your widget typically consists of several steps. If you want to test a specific step, you don’t need to complete the entire process or sign the petition—you can access it directly! Simply add the appropriate fragment identifier to the end of the page URL.
Here are the steps along with their respective fragment identifiers:
- Petition:
#proca_Petition
- MTT (mail-to-target):
#proca_Email
- Share:
#proca_Share
- Donation:
#proca_donate_Amount
