When a campaign ends, you don’t always want to just remove the widget from the campaign page or shut it down completely.
We have a few ways to “close” a widget, depending on what you want supporters to see and do afterward. Below are options, with examples from the FTSQ dummy campaign.
1. Closed with Subscribe + Share
👉 Example: View closed widget

This option keeps the widget active in a limited way. Instead of showing the main action, supporters can still:
- Subscribe to stay in touch
- Share the campaign further
- Optionally: include a donation step
It’s flexible: you can run a sign-up form, with a “share” or “donation” step, or with both, if you want to keep the momentum going even after the campaign is over.
2. Closed and disabled
👉 Example: View disabled widget

This option completely disables the widget. Supporters won’t see action options anymore — the campaign is clearly over, and no further steps are possible. Useful when you want to freeze things entirely.
Thank-you notes
For both closing modes, you can have a ribbon on the side of the screen and a note on the top of the widget (upper screenshots), or just one of them.
Example of the widget without the ribbon:
Summary
- Closed with subscribe + share → lets people still sign up, share, or donate.
- Closed and disabled → completely shuts the widget down.
- Both options → allow you to drop the thank-you notes.
